Biography
John grew up
in The Lake District in some of England’s
most beautiful countryside. He was
educated at Maidwell Hall, Harrow School and the Landsdown
College in London.
Armed with a degree in business, he returned to the north of England
to embark on the first leg of his real estate career in country house and
estate management. Having spent several
years involved in farm and forestry management and looking for a change of
pace, John returned to London
where he worked as a residential property sales negotiator. Based in North London,
he worked with some of the city’s finest flats and houses.
After two
successful years in the London property market,
John moved to Yorkshire in the North East of
England where he secured a position with Strutt & Parker’s country house
division. This division consisted of one
other agent and a 150 square mile area making it possible only to deal with the
very finest houses and estates (including some castles). John’s love for architecture, old houses and
the rolling Yorkshire landscape made for two
extremely happy years. Unfortunately,
the U.K.
property market started showing signs of stagnation. It was then John began to consider the
potentiality of real estate in the United States.
In 1991, John
moved to Denver, bought a log house at the top
of Conifer Mountain
and has been enjoying life in Colorado
ever since. John joined Moore &
Company shortly after arriving in Denver
and over the ensuing years built a very successful real estate business. In January, 1995, he set up his own real
estate company under the Metro Broker banner which has further strengthened his
success thanks to a fantastic group of clients, agents and friends.

first-hand of the challenges and stresses of moving to an unfamiliar city. John also has extensive experience and
